Gonçalo Simões
- Lives (lived) in Portugal
Gonçalo Simões was born in Torres Novas, Portugal, in December 1976. Since very young he liked photography and his knowledge and interest increased as he grew up. In his youth he photographed with a professional analog machine, having cemented his knowledge through reading and research in this area.
During college he had a course in photography, where he learned the theory and practice of film photography, the operation of the machine, frameworks, and path properties of light, lenses, perspective, depth of field, studio work, and outdoor lighting. Years later, switching to a digital camera, applied all his knowledge and experience acquired earlier, and because of the ease of experience he felt a great evolution.
Then he began to compete for national and international competitions in photography, having been awarded several prizes and honors, among which we can highlight:
1st Place: "IV National Congress of Apiculture", October 2004;
1st Place: "Mel Azores, Regional Fair", March 2008;
Honorable Mention: "Youth Month", May 2008;
2nd Prize: "Paths of Hope" - Caritas Terceira Island, in September 2010
Since 2011 he is also a wedding photographer at the company Um Dia Único® (www.umdiaunico.com).
