Artists portrait of Salvador Dalí

Salvador Dalí

  • Born: 11. May 1904 in Figueras
  • Died: 23. January 1989
Born on May 11th, 1904 in Figueras, Catalonia (Spain), Salvador Dali commences his studies of graphic arts and painting at the Academy of San Fernando in 1921. In this period he met the Surrealists grouped around Luis Bunuel. He was expelled from the academy in 1926 for rebellious and unsuitable behaviour. In 1927 he travelled for the first time to Paris, where he met Joan Miro, who introduced him to the artistic circle of Surrealists grouped around André Breton. In 1934 it came to a break with Breton and the Surrealists and he spent the following years in Italy, where he studied the Renaissance and Baroque periods. He spent 1940 to 1948 in the United Stales together with his Muse, Gala, and became world famous through exhibitions and contributions to films like "Spellbound" by Alfred Hitchcock. In 1948 he returns to Port Ligat in Spain, where he focuses on the classicist. In 1964 Dali was awarded the Grand cross of Isabella, Spain's most important decoration, for his lifetime achievement. In 1973 the Dali Museum opened in his native town Figueres, where he died on January 23rd, 1989. Decisive for understanding the art of Salvador Dali is the way he sees himself "to be Dali" is already art. It is part of the fascination of his work, that he is one of the greatest, but, at the same time, also one of the most controversial artists of this century. His illusionist surrealism has an irresistible effect not only on his friends and followers but also on his critics.
The pictures are predominantly assigned to the art direction Surrealism.
The art works of the artist are dominated by the colors pastel, black and gray.

Art Prints

We deliver exclusively art prints from well-known art publishers in brilliant quality, such as the art print »Sting Caused by the Flight of a Bee...« from Salvador Dalí. Classic art prints are normally produced by offset or screen printing. In this case, often also spot colours and embossments are used.

Graphic Arts

Prints or graphics, often also called prints or original graphics, are always created with the collaboration of the artist as prints of special quality. The printing process used by the artist is chosen in such a way that the artwork is shown to its best advantage, as for example in »Don Quixote1005The Aura« by Salvador Dalí.

Stretcher on canvas

Our canvas prints are handmade in our own workshop. Either the canvas print or the art print laminated on a canvas is stretched onto a quality keyless frame. Perfectly wedged and provided with a suspension, the canvas image can be hung directly. Optionally, we also offer each canvas picture framed, i.e. with floater frame. »The Persistence of Memory, 1931« of Salvador Dalí as a canvas image also beautifies your home.

Framed pictures

We frame almost every picture. You can choose from many different frames. Passepartouts are just as much a part of your choice as are various options for surface protection. So »Apparition of Face and Fruit Dish on a Beach« of Salvador Dalí becomes a highlight for your living room or bedroom.
